International Orangutan Center
To raise awareness about the need to conserve orangutans in the wild, the Indianapolis Zoo built a revolutionary new orangutan facility. Thinc designed the interior and exterior exhibition elements for the new site, including a sequence of exhibits that provide the orangutans with ongoing cognitive stimulation while interacting with humans. These elements enable the human visitors to connect directly, one-to-one, with the resident apes, using tools to complete a series of collaborative, puzzle-solving tasks that require equal participation from humans and orangutans alike.
