National September 11 Memorial Museum at the World Trade Center

Bear witness and remember

The largest loss of life from an attack on American soil occurred on September 11, 2001. The Memorial Museum commemorating this seminal event of the opening decade of the 21st century will rest on the authentic footprints of the World Trade Center towers, 70 feet below a Memorial located at plaza level. The Museum will tell the stories of that unprecedented day, memorialize the victims of the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and enable visitors to better know their own experience of the event and the world that has evolved out of it.
